Pune | November10, 2025: Maharashtra’s Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil has extended significant support to 17-year-old gold medallist wrestler Sunny Fulmali, announcing ₹50,000 monthly financial assistance, a new house, and full training support. Sunny, who hails from a financially weak family in Lohgaon (Palavar), Pune, recently won national praise after securing a gold medal at an international competition in Bahrain. His achievement drew attention to his difficult upbringing, as he grew up in a semi-constructed house without a proper roof and limited access to basic facilities. Despite these challenges, Sunny trained with determination and discipline, often practicing in inadequate spaces with minimal equipment. His journey from poverty to the international podium became an inspiring story across Maharashtra.
Minister Patil visited Sunny’s home and publicly committed to supporting his long-term development.
