To support timely nominations, Maharashtra’s caste verification office will remain open through holidays. Applicants must attach the office receipt when filing their nomination form. Deadline for filing is Monday.

Mumbai | November 14, 2025:  The Maharashtra government has announced that its caste verification offices will remain operational even during upcoming holidays, acknowledging the urgency for candidates preparing nomination filings. This decision helps applicants who need caste certificates as part of their nomination paperwork.

Under the directive, any candidate seeking a caste certificate must ensure they obtain the verification receipt from the relevant office and attach it to their nomination form failing which the application may not be accepted. Officials emphasized that this receipt is now mandatory.

With the nomination filing deadline set for Monday, election authorities have urged all prospective candidates to promptly complete their caste verification process without delay. They noted that offices across districts will function as usual, accommodating applicants who might otherwise face setbacks due to intervening holidays.

Election commission officials stressed that the move is aimed at reducing last‑minute complications and ensuring fair access to all candidates especially those from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) who often require verification during such filing windows.

Applicants have been advised to carry proper identification, fill out the requisite form at the verification office, retain the stamped receipt, and attach it as part of their nomination documentation. Any form submitted without this receipt risks rejection.

With just days remaining until the deadline, candidates are being urged to treat the verification as a priority step, leveraging the extended service hours provided by the government during the holiday period.
