A fresh political shock in Maharashtra. Activist Manoj Jarange Patil alleges that former minister Dhananjay Munde held a meeting on Bhaubeej day and offered a 2.5 crore contract to eliminate him.
November 7, 2025, Beed-Jalna – The political atmosphere in Maharashtra has turned tense after a serious allegation by activist and Maratha community leader Manoj Jarange Patil. Speaking to the media, Jarange claimed that former minister Dhananjay Munde was involved in a plot to eliminate him, and that a contract worth 2.5 crore rupees had been arranged for the job. He also said that the alleged meeting took place on the day of Bhaubeej and included a party worker named Kanchan Patil, who Jarange described as closely associated with Munde.
Jarange said he learned about the alleged plan from people within the same region, and that instructions were circulated among local workers about monitoring him. He added that before the alleged murder plan, attempts were made to trap him with fake audio recordings to damage his reputation. According to him, when that did not work, the idea of a contract killing was discussed. Jarange stated that he was informed the plan involved using a car and staging the attack as an accident. He said, “They asked for an old car and said they would hit me with it. This is not just politics. This is a criminal mindset.”
He also appealed to his supporters to stay calm and not react emotionally to the news, saying he wanted to expose the conspiracy in a transparent way. Jarange said, “I want my community to remain stable. There is no need to panic. The truth will come out.” He insisted that he is speaking up because if this can happen to him, it can happen to others too. Jarange said that such behavior needs to be stopped and condemned at the root level.
The activist further claimed that Kanchan Patil, who he described as a PA or active worker of Munde, met the former minister several times. He said these meetings eventually led to a closed-door discussion about him and that he has information from people who were present around those locations. He stated that the amount of 2.5 crore rupees was allegedly agreed upon as payment for the job. He also mentioned receiving indirect threats connected to the same group of people.
This allegation has triggered strong reactions in the region, with supporters of Jarange expressing anger and demanding a detailed investigation. Political analysts say the claim could escalate tensions between the Maratha and OBC political groups, who are already at odds on several issues. Jarange is known for leading major protests related to Maratha reservation, and any threat against him naturally carries high political weight.
Meanwhile, local police have reportedly taken two suspects from Beed district into custody for questioning. Authorities say they are looking into the claims and gathering statements from relevant individuals. Officials have not confirmed the details of the alleged contract or the meeting said to have taken place on Bhaubeej, but they have acknowledged that the matter is sensitive and requires careful investigation.
As the case unfolds, the political temperature remains high. Supporters on both sides are watching closely, and the coming days are expected to bring more clarity. For now, Jarange’s claims have added another layer of uncertainty to Maharashtra’s already heated political scene.
