Entrepreneurs in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and broader Marathwada urge major policy announcements, enhanced infrastructure, and targeted support for MSMEs in the upcoming Central Budget to accelerate industrial development

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, January 30, 2026:Business leaders and industrial stakeholders in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and the wider Marathwada region are calling for significant government announcements and policy support to catalyse industrial growth, especially in infrastructure and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Entrepreneurs say that while the region has seen some industrial expansion, fundamental bottlenecks remain, and the forthcoming Union Budget presents an opportunity to unlock further potential.

Local industry representatives emphasised the need for enhanced infrastructure development including improved connectivity, utilities, and industrial facilities to attract new investment and support existing businesses. They pointed out that sectors such as automobile manufacturing, pharma, agri‑based industries, and food processing have growth potential but currently face high production costs and infrastructure gaps, which can deter investors. A strong budgetary focus on these areas could provide the region with a competitive edge.

MSMEs form the backbone of regional economic activity, offering large employment opportunities and contributing to local supply chains. Representatives urged policymakers to introduce incentives, credit support, tax relief, and streamlined regulatory frameworks tailored to MSMEs’ needs. Enhanced funding and subsidies could help local enterprises scale up operations and tap into national and global markets.

Experts also highlighted the importance of bolstering industrial ecosystem support, such as skill development initiatives, technology adoption programmes, and dedicated industrial clusters or parks. Efforts to integrate Marathwada into larger national infrastructure plans like the Delhi‑Mumbai Industrial Corridor and smart city projects could further strengthen its industrial landscape.

As the Union Budget nears, business groups remain hopeful that pragmatic announcements addressing infrastructure and MSME challenges will pave the way for sustained growth, job creation, and greater economic resilience in the region.
