Massive Youth Turnout Marks Kolhapur Army Recruitment Rally As Physical Tests Begin At University Grounds

Chhatrapati Shivaji University in Kolhapur is hosting a 15-day Army recruitment rally with heavy participation from Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara and Sindhudurg. Youth reported in thousands for physical tests held daily from 6 am to 6 pm.

Kolhapur | 17 November 2025:The Army recruitment rally that began at Chhatrapati Shivaji University, Kolhapur has drawn an impressive response from young aspirants across western Maharashtra. The rally, which will continue for the next fifteen days, is conducting daily physical tests from early morning till evening. Officials reported that youth arrived in large numbers even before sunrise, many travelling overnight from neighbouring districts to secure their chance.

Participants from Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara, Sindhudurg and rural belts lined up at the University ground as Army teams checked documents, verified eligibility and then moved candidates through running, push-ups and other endurance assessments. Several applicants noted that they had been preparing for months, motivated by the opportunity to join the Territorial Army and serve the nation while building a disciplined career.

Army officers on duty said that the surge in participation reflects rising interest in defence careers and growing awareness of structured recruitment processes. They added that the rally is being managed in phases to avoid overcrowding, with strict security and medical arrangements in place. Guidance counters were set up to help candidates understand the next stages of selection.

Local authorities have ensured traffic control and basic facilities near the venue, anticipating heavy footfall throughout the event. Parents accompanying candidates expressed pride and hope that the rally would open new pathways for youth employment and national service.

The rally will continue with physical tests, medical examinations and document verification before shortlisted candidates move to the final merit phase.
