Scheduled to open by the end of October, this initial 5-kilometer stretch will feature five major stations: Mandale, Mankhurd, BSNL Metro, Shivaji Maharaj Chowk, and Diamond Garden (Chembur).

The new Metro route is expected to significantly improve commuting for Mumbai residents, providing a faster and more convenient travel option between eastern and western suburbs. Safety checks and trial runs have been successfully completed, ensuring the route is fully ready for public service. This launch marks the first Metro line starting in the eastern suburbs, bridging a critical gap in Mumbai’s transit infrastructure.

Commuters can expect shorter travel times, especially from Mandale to Chembur and further south towards central and western Mumbai. The integration with Metro 2A at Dahanukarwadi, Metro 3 at Bandra, and Metro 4A towards Thane will make daily commuting more efficient.

The Metro authority is urging passengers to follow safety protocols and is optimistic that the opening of Line 2B will provide long-term relief for Mumbai’s growing urban travel demands.
