Mumbai’s Kalachowki Area Witnesses Fatal Attack: Woman Dies After Stabbing by Ex-Boyfriend

A 24-year-old woman was fatally stabbed by her ex-boyfriend in Mumbai’s Kalachowki area. Despite efforts to save her, she succumbed to her injuries. The assailant also took his own life.

Mumbai, October 24, 2025 – In a tragic incident in Mumbai’s Kalachowki area, a 24-year-old woman, identified as Manisha Yadav, was fatally attacked by her former boyfriend, Sonu Barai. The attack occurred on Dattaram Lad Marg, near a nursing home, where Barai stabbed Yadav multiple times. After the assault, Barai reportedly slit his own throat, leading to his death.

The motive behind the attack appears to be related to a recent breakup between the two. According to reports, the couple had ended their relationship 8 to 10 days prior to the incident. Barai had allegedly been attempting to reconcile, but Yadav had refused.

Following the attack, Yadav was rushed to Sir JJ Hospital for treatment. Despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries. The incident has shocked the local community and raised concerns about the safety of women in public spaces.

The Kalachowki police have initiated an investigation into the matter. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to gather more information. The incident underscores the importance of addressing issues related to relationship disputes and ensuring the safety of individuals in urban environments.
