Nanded | February 14, 2026: In an extraordinary display of grit and determination, Suraj Shivraj Ubale, a 12th standard student from Nanded district’s Gadgaon village, is writing his Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination answer sheets using his feet because he was born without both hands.

Suraj is currently appearing for the board exams at Shri Shivaji College in Kandhar. While students typically use pens with their hands, Suraj balances himself and holds the pen between his toes to write his answers a remarkable feat that has drawn attention from fellow students and invigilators.
Although he was entitled to the support of a scribe (writer) to assist him during exams, Suraj chose to write the papers by himself to maintain his independence and self-respect. His parents supported this decision, highlighting his resilience and confidence under challenging circumstances.

School authorities, including the centre superintendent and college principal, have praised Suraj for his courage and spirit, describing his example as an inspiration to others. Observers noted that his determination sends a powerful message about overcoming adversity and striving for success regardless of physical limitations.

Suraj’s efforts have made him a symbol of motivation for many students and citizens. His story not only highlights his personal battle against disability but also underscores the importance of inclusion, perseverance, and self-belief in education inspiring people across the region.
