At the Homethon Property Expo in Nashik, environment and development take centre stage as officials pledge mass tree planting under the Green Nashik initiative to support sustainable urban expansion

Nashik, December 2025:Nashik’s drive toward sustainability gained fresh momentum at the Homethon Property Expo 2025, where state Water Resources and Kumbh Mela Minister Girish Mahajan highlighted the city’s commitment to environmental development alongside urban growth. The expo, organised by the National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO) Nashik, brought together real estate professionals, officials and civic stakeholders to emphasise how property expansion and green goals can go hand in hand.

Mahajan said the Green Nashik vision is more than rhetoric, stressing that practical steps are underway to plant large numbers of trees across the city to enhance air quality and urban ecology. He pointed to planned plantation drives and community involvement as evidence that sustainability is being woven into broader development strategies rather than treated as an afterthought.

Organisers at the expo said environmental considerations are becoming central to real estate growth, with property projects increasingly integrating green space planning and ecological safeguards. In recent weeks, local agencies have worked on collaborative tree-planting schemes and public awareness efforts to counter concerns about tree removal related to civic projects, reinforcing that tree cover enhancement remains a priority.

The Homethon event also showcased housing and infrastructure options that reflect Nashik’s evolving profile as an investment destination with a quality-of-life focus. Real estate representatives underlined that sustainability credentials are increasingly influencing buyer preferences and investor interest.

As Nashik heads into a growth phase ahead of major events and urban expansions, the Green Nashik drive aims to balance built-environment developments with green buffers, signalling that ecological commitment is integral to the city’s future.
