A proposed Vande Bharat train between Nanded and Pune, expected by December 2025–January 2026, will cover 550 km in about 7 hours and include a stop at Kurduwadi.
Solapur | November 8, 2025: Residents of Solapur district and the larger Marathwada region have reason to celebrate as plans move ahead for a new Vande Bharat Express train linking Nanded and Pune. According to local railway sources and media reports, the train is expected to launch by December 2025 or January 2026.
The projected journey time for this advanced semi‑high‑speed train will be approximately 7 hours to cover around 550 km, significantly reducing the current 10–12 hour travel time by regular trains or buses.Importantly for Solapur district, the route is expected to include a stop at Kurduwadi Junction, thereby improving connectivity for travellers from rural and semi‑urban areas of the district.

Stops along the proposed route are likely to include Nanded, Latur, Dharashiv, Kurduwadi, Daund and Pune, offering a direct and fast option for passengers travelling between Marathwada and western Maharashtra
Ticket fares are estimated to fall in the range of ₹1,500 to ₹1,900 for AC Chair Car and possibly higher for Executive Chair Car, though exact pricing hasn’t yet been finalised.
Railway passengers and community leaders have welcomed the announcement, highlighting that the new service will enhance opportunities for work, education, and travel between the regions. Officials say the project is in its final stages of approval and expects a formal launch date to be announced soon.
