Reacting strongly, Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid warned of retaliation and stated that Afghanistan would no longer engage in dialogue with Pakistan following the incident. The Taliban government condemned the strikes in the strongest terms, further intensifying already strained relations between the two neighbouring countries. However, Pakistan has denied targeting civilian infrastructure. Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said the operation, named “Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq,” was aimed at destroying bases in Kabul and Nangarhar allegedly supporting militant activities.

He claimed that several militants were killed in the precision strikes and dismissed allegations of hitting a hospital as baseless. The conflicting claims from both sides have raised concerns within the international community over civilian safety and the risk of further escalation in the region. The situation remains volatile, with fears of retaliatory action looming large
