Colombo|February 16, 2026:Former Pakistan legends Shahid Afridi and Mohammad Yousaf publicly urged the cricket board to drop senior stars Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Shadab Khan from the team. Afridi stated that the team needs fresh talent to remain competitive, while Yousaf warned that the T20 careers of Babar and Shaheen may be over if their performances do not improve.

The defeat highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing struggles against India in high-pressure matches. India posted 175/7 and bowled out Pakistan for 114, consolidating their dominance in the T20 World Cup head-to-head record.
