PMRDA directs completion of all road repair work in Hinjewadi IT Park by December 5, following complaints from over 5,500 IT professionals about potholes affecting commuting and safety.
Pune | 28 November 2025: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has issued a strict directive to all concerned agencies to complete pothole repairs in Hinjewadi IT Park and neighbouring areas by 5 December 2025. The move comes after more than 5,500 IT professionals raised concerns regarding the deteriorating condition of roads, highlighting the inconvenience caused to daily commuters and the irony of hosting international cycling events on damaged roads.
During a multi-agency coordination meeting, PMRDA Commissioner Yogesh Mhase reviewed prior complaints and the progress of ongoing road repair work. He has been designated as the central authority for all infrastructure-related issues in the Hinjewadi IT corridor. Officials from MIDC, PMC, PCMC, local police, and gram panchayats attended the meeting to ensure smooth coordination across departments.

The urgency of the directive stems from repeated pothole formations after early monsoon repairs. Authorities have assured that all agencies will complete the work without delay, with PMRDA monitoring progress daily. The aim is to guarantee safer and smoother mobility for IT employees and residents in the area.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is scheduled to review regional development projects in early December, but Mhase clarified that the pothole repair directive is independent of the CM’s visit. The concerted effort reflects PMRDA’s commitment to maintaining infrastructure quality in Pune’s key IT hubs and addressing citizen grievances promptly.
