A pregnant laborer in Kolhapur died after a fall, but a woman nearby helped deliver her baby in time. The incident has sparked concern over workers’ health and safety.

Kolhapur | November 19, 2025: In a tragic turn of events in Kolhapur, a pregnant laborer lost her life after slipping from a scaffold. According to sources, the woman fell while working and was rushed to hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival.

Despite the mother’s death, the baby survived. Thanks to the timely intervention of another woman present at the scene, the newborn was delivered safely. The incident has drawn widespread attention in the community, raising serious questions about the safety of laborers  especially women  in construction and other physically demanding work.
