Pune Book Festival To Host Passport Mobile Seva Kendra, Bringing Faster Appointments And On-Site Services For Citizens

RPO Pune will run a Passport Mobile Seva Kendra at the Pune Book Festival from 13–20 December, offering easier appointments and on-site passport services for readers, students and citizens.

Pune | 12 December 2025: The National Book Trust is organising the third edition of the Pune Book Festival at Fergusson College from 13 to 21 December. As part of the event, the Regional Passport Office, Pune, will set up a special Passport Mobile Seva Kendra titled “Passport Van – Pune Book Festival.” The initiative falls under the citizen-friendly programme “Passport Office at Your Doorstep.”

The mobile centre is designed to make passport services more accessible during the festival. It will offer earlier appointment dates and on-site processing for readers, authors, students and residents who fall under the jurisdiction of RPO Pune.

The Passport Mobile Seva Kendra will operate from 13 to 20 December at the Fergusson College campus. Timings are from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Applicants must report 15 minutes before their scheduled appointment time mentioned on the online receipt.To book an appointment, applicants need to visit the Passport India website, select the NORMAL scheme and complete the online payment. After that, the “Mobile Van” option can be chosen on the Schedule Appointment page to confirm the slot.

Officials have advised applicants to read the prescribed document checklists for both adults and minors before filling out the online application. They also noted that under the Passports Act, the Passport Authority may ask for additional information or documents if required for verification.This initiative aims to offer smoother access to essential services at a public event that draws large numbers of young readers and families. It also reflects RPO Pune’s effort to expand its outreach and cut down on appointment delays.
