Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) claims to have resolved almost 3,900 road complaints in the last month, leaving just 34 pending — a major push to clear potholes and damaged roads across Pune

Pune | December 4, 2025: Over the past month, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) launched an extensive road-repair drive to tackle potholes and damaged roads, especially after the monsoon. Out of 3,904 complaints logged through the city’s grievance portal, 3,870 have been resolved, leaving just 34 pending.

The repair efforts covered nearly 18 hectares of city roads, addressing 2,989 potholes through filling and patchwork. Severely damaged sections received milling and re‑asphalting rather than simple repairs. Officials emphasized that each repair was documented with photographs and records to ensure accountability and track progress.

While PMC highlights this as one of its largest repair campaigns, some residents and commuter‑rights groups remain concerned. Certain older and peripheral roads still show signs of wear, and reports suggest that some resurfaced areas are deteriorating again quickly.

The head of PMC’s Road Department described the initiative as a “war‑footing” operation, with teams deployed across all zones working day and night to clear the backlog. Additional inspections and maintenance drives are planned to ensure all problem areas are permanently addressed.
