The Pune civic administration will set fresh hoarding‑advertisement fees soon, after the previous 2022 fee hike was cancelled. New permit issuance paused until revised rates get approved.

Pune | December 3, 2025: The city’s civic administration has announced that it will finalise a new fee structure for hoardings and outdoor advertisement boards within the next 15 days. The move comes after the previous 2022 resolution increasing hoarding charges was struck down, temporarily restoring the older rate of ₹111 per square foot. As a result, the issuance of new hoarding permits has been put on hold until the revised rates are officially approved.

Officials are reviewing policies from other major cities to draft a proposal that balances civic revenue requirements with fair charges for advertisers. Once the proposal is ready, it will be submitted to the standing committee and general body for approval.

The cancellation of the 2022 fee hike had disrupted advertising approvals, leaving many advertisers and agencies uncertain about costs. Until the new rates are announced, they are advised not to install new hoardings or renew permits.

The city continues to face challenges from unauthorised hoardings. Recent surveys indicate around 2,600 authorised boards alongside an estimated 1,000–1,500 illegal structures, especially in areas such as Yerawada and along Ahmednagar Road.

Officials emphasise that no new permits will be granted until the new tariff comes into effect. The upcoming decision is being closely monitored by advertising stakeholders, who are waiting for clarity on charges and compliance requirements before planning installations.
