The Pune Municipal Corporation razed 13,500 sq ft of unauthorized constructions in Dhankawadi and Ambegaon Khurd using JCBs and cutters, supported by police and MSF personnel.

Pune | November 7, 2025:  In a major anti-encroachment drive, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) demolished approximately 13,500 square feet of illegal constructions in the Dhankawadi and Ambegaon Khurd areas on Thursday. The action was carried out by PMC’s Building Development Department (Zone 2) under the supervision of Superintendent Engineer Rajesh Banker and Executive Engineer Navale.

The operation involved one JCB machine, a gas cutter, and a team of seven encroachment workers. The demolition drive was conducted with the assistance of police officials and personnel from the Maharashtra Security Force (MSF) to ensure smooth execution and prevent any disruption during the process.

According to officials, unauthorized RCC and permanent constructions had been developed illegally on Survey No. 22 and 3 in Dhankawadi, and Survey No. 41 near the Sai Mandir area in Ambegaon Khurd. The illegal structures were located behind two lanes of the temple area and had been reported to the civic body after complaints from local residents.

The PMC team inspected the sites and confirmed the illegal status of the buildings before proceeding with demolition. Junior Engineers Ganesh Dhage and Mohan Chavan, along with Assistant Engineer Pravin Bhavsar, coordinated the ground operations to ensure timely clearance.

PMC officials said the campaign is part of a larger effort to curb unauthorized construction across the city. Similar drives will continue in other areas under the civic limits to enforce urban planning laws and maintain the city’s development regulations.

The corporation has also warned citizens and developers against engaging in unauthorized construction activities, emphasizing that strict action will follow in future violations.
