13 jan 2025 :With the Pune Municipal Corporation elections approaching, political activity has intensified across various wards of the city. In Ward No. 09, Baner, emphasis is being placed on direct engagement with citizens. In this context, Amol Balwadkar visited Mauli Garden Society in Baner and held meaningful discussions with residents. During the visit, a wide range of issues were discussed, from day-to-day civic problems to long-term development priorities.
Residents of Mauli Garden Society highlighted concerns such as irregular water supply, poor condition of internal roads, problems in the drainage system, shortcomings in cleanliness and waste management, and challenges arising from increasing traffic. Many residents pointed out that waterlogging during the monsoon, traffic congestion, and lack of adequate public amenities have been affecting daily life in the area.
The interaction was attended by Vaishali Kamajdar, the newly appointed City President of the NCP Women’s Wing in Pune. Her presence added focus to discussions on women’s safety, public amenities, and social issues within the locality. Speakers stressed the need for a sensitive approach toward citizens’ problems and the importance of implementing concrete solutions rather than offering mere assurances.
During the meeting, Nationalist Congress Party’s official candidates Gayatri Medhe-Kokate, Baburao Chandere, Parvati Nimhan, along with Amol Balwadkar, presented their vision for the overall development of the Baner area. They clarified their stand that development efforts should go beyond election-time promises and should focus on effective implementation of projects, coordination with the administration, and active participation of citizens.
The candidates emphasized that transparency, timely decision-making, and quality of work are crucial while addressing civic issues. They assured residents that priority would be given to fundamental concerns such as roads, water supply, sanitation, traffic planning, and public infrastructure. As Baner continues to witness rapid growth, the need for planned and sustainable development was also strongly highlighted during the interaction.
Residents of Mauli Garden Society responded positively to the dialogue and openly shared their expectations and suggestions. Many expressed that leadership which engages directly with citizens at the local level plays a vital role in building public trust. Along with raising concerns, residents also showed readiness to contribute ideas and participate actively in the development process.
