Pune to See Slight Drop in Night Temperatures Over Next 2–3 Days, IMD Forecasts Cooler Nights
Pune night temperatures likely to dip 1–2 °C over next few days; minimum may reach 15–16 °C — mild but noticeable relief after warm nights.
Pune, 26 November 2025: Pune is set to experience a slight drop in night temperatures over the next two to three days, marking a modest shift toward cooler conditions. Weather officials have indicated that minimum temperatures across several parts of the city may dip by about 1–2 degrees, with some areas likely to record night lows around 15–16°C. This change is attributed to a fresh flow of dry northwesterly winds expected to influence the region briefly, bringing a mild chill during the late evenings and early mornings.
Recent observations show that night temperatures had been staying relatively higher than usual for late November, with many parts of the city recording minimums between 17°C and 20°C. Localities like Shivajinagar, Pashan, Lohegaon, and Chinchwad saw noticeably warm nights over the past week. While daytime temperatures are expected to remain in the range of 30–32°C, the marginal drop in nighttime conditions may provide some comfort for residents who had been waiting for cooler weather to set in.
Pune has been experiencing a delayed onset of winter this year. Warmer nights over the last few weeks were influenced by residual humidity and intermittent cloud cover, preventing the typical nighttime cooling the city usually experiences in November. With clearer skies and the arrival of dry winds, the atmosphere is now more conducive to radiational cooling — allowing the land surface to lose heat more quickly at night.
Although the upcoming dip will not be drastic, it will still be noticeable for early risers, senior citizens, and those sensitive to weather changes. Light winter clothing may start making an appearance, even though the city is not yet entering its peak winter phase. The coming days may offer only a brief hint of the season ahead, as long-term forecasts suggest that fluctuations may continue before more consistent winter patterns emerge in December.
