A 42-year-old Pune resident faces multiple extortion cases after Pune Woman allegedly blackmailing men with threats of false rape charges and photo leaks – police on her trail.

Pune|06 December 2025: A 42-year-old woman from Kothrud has been booked once again after fresh complaints surfaced accusing her of extortion, coercion and blackmail. According to police, this marks the third case registered against her – earlier complaints involve a similar pattern. Allegations include demanding ₹2 lakh from victims under threat of filing a false rape case or circulating private photos online.

One of the recent allegations involves a resident of Ghorpadi, who says the woman approached him under the pretense of offering legal help. She reportedly introduced herself as a lawyer, then allegedly threatened him with a fabricated rape complaint and demanded money or forced marriage. When he refused, he filed a complaint, prompting police action.

In a separate case, another man – a resident of Kolhapur district – alleged that shortly after meeting her, she drugged his drink, clandestinely photographed him in compromising situations, and then demanded ₹2 lakh, threatening exposure of the photos online. According to this victim, the threat included marriage demands if he refused to pay. This prompted the earlier complaint.

Authorities from multiple police stations – including those in Kothrud, Mundhwa and Uttamnagar – are now investigating parallel FIRs. A notice has been issued to the accused, but she remains absconding, and police are working to trace her whereabouts.

The unfolding series of complaints has raised alarm among law-enforcement officials about a possible pattern of exploitation, with similar modus operandi being used across different districts and victims. Investigators say the woman allegedly lured men with promises of legal aid or intimacy, spiked their drinks, recorded compromising material, and then coerced them for money under threat of reputational damage.

With three separate extortion cases now lodged, the police have urged anyone who believes they may have been victimised by this woman to come forward. They also cautioned the public against trusting unsolicited legal assistance or romantic overtures from unknown individuals, particularly those promising quick fixes during marital disputes or personal problems.
