Under the Chief Minister’s 150‑day e‑governance reform programme, Pune Zilla Parishad achieved the highest score of 196.25 out of 200 among all district bodies, reflecting major digital governance gains.

Pune| February 11, 2026:Pune Zilla Parishad has secured first place in Maharashtra’s e‑governance rankings following a comprehensive evaluation under the state government’s ambitious 150‑day digital governance improvement initiative. The assessment, conducted across all district parishads, measured performance on digital administration, transparency, citizen services and innovative technology use, with Pune scoring 196.25 out of a possible 200.

Officials said the rigorous evaluation recognised Pune ZP’s efforts to bring government services closer to citizens and improve administrative efficiency through digital solutions. Key components of the assessment included online service delivery via the Aaple Sarkar platform, adoption of paperless workflow solutions like e‑Office, integration of AI‑enabled chatbots for public queries, and the expansion of web and mobile‑accessible features designed to simplify rural residents’ interactions with government systems.

The Pune ZP leadership highlighted that making the official parishad website mobile‑friendly, bilingual and compliant with accessibility standards was a strategic priority, enabling more residents to access information about schemes, tenders and public notices without physical visits. Training programmes for over 4,000 staff were also launched to improve digital literacy and service delivery speed, according to parishad officials.In addition to citizen engagement tools such as the ‘Pune ZP Samvaad’ WhatsApp chatbot offering round‑the‑clock assistance on local services and complaints, the body implemented GIS mapping across village infrastructure networks to aid in planning and disaster response. The e‑governance push reflects Pune’s broader commitment to modernising rural administration and enhancing transparency.

Deputy CEO Shrikant Kharat and CEO Gajanan Patil attributed the top ranking to sustained efforts in rolling out technology innovations that address everyday governance needs of residents. Local representatives said that improved digital processes are expected to reduce turnaround times for public requests and strengthen accountability in project monitoring and implementation.

With this accolade, Pune Zilla Parishad positions itself as a model for digital transformation at the grassroots level, underscoring how targeted use of technology can elevate public services even outside urban centres.
