Kuchaman, Rajasthan | December 3, 2025: A wedding in Patwari Ki Kothi, Kuchaman city, Rajasthan, took an unusual yet commendable turn when the bride’s family decided to gift helmets to all guests instead of traditional presents. Manoj Barwal celebrated his daughter Sonu’s marriage to Yash Bedwal and distributed 286 helmets to the groom’s relatives and attendees following the garland-exchange ceremony.
The initiative aimed to raise awareness about road safety and the critical importance of wearing helmets while riding two-wheelers. Manoj’s father, Rankaran, explained to the media that countless accidents occur due to the absence of helmets, while many lives are saved when helmets are used. “From morning till night, our screens show reports of people dying in two-wheeler accidents, often without helmets. We wanted to use this occasion to remind everyone how a helmet can save lives,” he said.
The bride’s sister, Hemalatha Kumawat, encouraged other families to consider similar actions at their events, believing such gestures can contribute to reducing road accidents significantly.
Guests praised the thoughtful initiative, describing it as a creative and meaningful way to promote safety. The event has since sparked conversations about responsible driving habits and the potential for more families to integrate social awareness into their celebrations. The wedding set an inspiring example by blending celebration with education, making a lasting impression on everyone present.
