Union Minister Raksha Khadse criticises officials for protocol violations and delays by electricity and railway departments at a DISHA meeting in Jalgaon, orders show‑cause notices
Jalgaon | February 24,2026: Union Minister of State Raksha Khadse expressed strong disapproval of government department officials during a recent District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting held in Jalgaon, highlighting serious protocol lapses and delays in key local projects. The meeting, attended by senior administrative officials and public representatives, became tense as the minister questioned the handling of electricity and railway works and emphasised the importance of proper coordination and protocol.

During the session, Khadse criticised department officials for failing to follow protocol regarding project inaugurations, particularly instances where MPs were reportedly excluded while local MLAs’ family members were invited to perform ceremonial openings despite significant central funding. She underscored that when central government schemes account for a large portion of a project’s funding, representatives from the central government must be informed and included in official events to uphold proper procedure and respect.
The minister’s remarks also took aim at the progress of railway infrastructure projects in the region, especially concerning the bridge works in Varangaon and other local railway issues that have remained unresolved for several years. Khadse questioned engineers about prolonged delays and design shortcomings, warning that continued sluggishness in completing these works could adversely impact farmers and local communities that rely on improved rail connectivity. She reportedly challenged officials directly over the pace of work, stressing the need for timely execution and accountability.

In addition to protocol and railway concerns, Khadse raised objections about the execution of electricity infrastructure projects, highlighting situations where officials did not adhere to standard notification practices for key stakeholders. She pointed out that a majority of funding for substation development came from central schemes, yet central representatives were not properly consulted or informed about project milestones. This perceived disregard for procedure led her to admonish Mahavitaran and utility officials present at the meeting.
The atmosphere in the district collectorate meeting reportedly became strained as the minister and local MP urged administrative staff to improve coordination and communication across departments. Khadse also took note of the absence of several senior officials from crucial departments, including those from the railway and national highways authorities, instructing the District Collector to issue show‑cause notices to absent officers and seek explanations for their lack of presence at a major development meeting.
The DISHA meeting also included reviews of other development works under central and state schemes, with emphasis on transparency, timely execution and enhanced participation of elected representatives. While the meeting covered a broad range of progress metrics for local infrastructure, Khadse’s sharp commentary on protocol adherence and project delays has drawn public and administrative attention to gaps in inter‑departmental coordination.
At a high‑profile DISHA meeting in Jalgaon, Union Minister Raksha Khadse criticised officials for protocol violations and project delays affecting electricity and railway works, and ordered show‑cause notices for absent officers. The incident highlights ongoing challenges in administrative coordination and adherence to proper procedures in executing government schemes and infrastructure projects.
