Temporary road closures and diversion plans are in place in Pimpri‑Chinchwad from December 31 to January 1 for the Vijaystambh Pernefata event; commuters advised to plan alternate routes.

Pune| December 25,2025: Pimpri‑Chinchwad traffic authorities have announced temporary road closures and alternate routes to manage the expected influx of visitors attending the Vijaystambh Pernefata program from the morning of December 31, 2025, until midnight on January 1, 2026. The measures aim to ensure smooth traffic flow and safety for both attendees and local commuters.

Private vehicles will be restricted on key stretches of the Pune–Ahilyanagar Highway, particularly between Chakan and Shikrapur. Only buses carrying event attendees will be allowed on these designated routes during the restricted period, while private cars and light vehicles will need to use alternate roads to reach their destinations.

Heavy and multi‑axle commercial vehicles coming from areas like Chakan Alandi Phata, Bharatmata Chowk, Moshi Chowk, and Panjarpol Chowk toward Alandi will face movement limitations. Traffic from Mumbai heading toward Ahilyanagar will be redirected based on vehicle type. Heavy trucks and goods carriers will use routes via Wadgaon Maval–HP Chowk–Mhalunge–Vasoli Phata or Waghjai Nagar–Birdawadi–Rohkal Phata–Pune‑Nashik Road–Khed–Manchar–Narayanagaon–Alephata, while light private vehicles will take the route through Talegaon–Chakan–Khed–Shirur.

For vehicles traveling from Alandi and Koyali toward the Rasika Hotel Chowk area, traffic will be directed via Chakan, reducing congestion on primary highways. Height restrictions will be enforced on certain stretches, allowing only vehicles under 8 feet in height for designated paths. Emergency and essential service vehicles, such as ambulances, fire engines, and police vehicles, are exempt from all restrictions.

Organisers have set up designated parking and routing plans for buses coming from nearby cities. Buses from Nashik will approach the Shikrapur parking area via Chakan, while buses from Mumbai will use the Wadgaon Phata–Mhalunge–Chakan corridor. Light vehicles coming via the old Mumbai–Pune Highway will be guided through Alandi Phata, Bharatmata Chowk, Moshi Chowk, Alandi–Markal–Tulapur, before reaching the Lonikand parking area.
