Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut criticised Mahayuti’s political messaging in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, calling out a controversial slogan linked to business influence.

Pune | 12 February, 2026- Senior Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has strongly criticised the Mahayuti alliance for its controversial slogan in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), describing it as an example of inappropriate political messaging. The remarks came amid heightened political activity following recent changes in the BMC leadership, which have seen the Mahayuti bloc consolidating its influence in Mumbai’s civic body.

Raut specifically took issue with slogans referencing “Good Luck Gautam Adani,” claiming that such messaging diverts attention from pressing civic concerns. According to him, the focus of municipal governance should remain on issues like sanitation, public transport, housing, infrastructure, and citizen welfare, rather than on slogans appearing to promote corporate figures or business interests. He emphasised that civic politics should prioritise public needs over populist or corporate-linked rhetoric.

The BMC, responsible for delivering essential services across Mumbai, has recently seen a wave of political activity within its council halls, with new corporators advocating for various initiatives. However, Raut warned that slogans and political theatrics inside civic spaces risk overshadowing governance and service delivery.
