Seven-Day Extension Granted in Case Involving ₹42 Crore Stamp Duty Demand in Parth Pawar-Linked Land Deal
An additional seven days has been granted for compliance in the ₹42 crore stamp duty notice issued in the land deal linked to Parth Pawar’s firm — key deadlines now extended as probe intensifies.
Pune | November18,2025: In a significant development in the high-profile land deal linked to Parth Pawar, a seven-day extension has been granted to his firm Amadea Enterprises LLP to comply with a stamp duty demand of approximately ₹42 crore. The firm was originally served a notice by the Inspector General of Registration & Stamps, Maharashtra (IGR) requiring payment of the full stamp duty plus penalty to enable registration of the cancellation deed for a controversial land transaction.
The land in question is a 40-acre parcel in the Mundhwa area of Pune, which was reportedly sold by a power-of-attorney holder for a value of around ₹300 crore to Amadea Enterprises, which lists Parth Pawar and his cousin as partners. However, the land is alleged to be government-owned (Mahar Watan land), rendering the transaction invalid. Despite this, the sale deed was executed and registered with stamp duty of only ₹500. Subsequent scrutiny found the stamp-duty exemption claimed by the firm was improperly based on a Letter of Intent rather than a valid certificate.
According to the IGR’s notice, the standard stamp duty at 7 % (5 % under the Maharashtra Stamp Act plus local body and metro cesses) on the ₹300 crore transaction amounts to ₹21 crore. In addition, when cancellation of the deed is sought, another 7 % is payable, bringing the total to approximately ₹42 crore. The extension appears aimed at giving the firm extra time to arrange payment and/or negotiate the terms, while the investigation into the broader irregularities continues.
The extension may also reflect the complex status of the case—since the deal is purportedly void due to the nature of ownership, there are questions over how the law applies regarding stamp duty and cancellation deed formalities. Senior revenue officials have noted that registration officers are obligated to record deeds when procedural conditions are met, regardless of title, meaning stamp duty remains payable.
The political implications are considerable: the deal links Parth Pawar’s firm to a transaction involving government-land disposal at major undervaluation, and opposition parties are demanding full transparency and accountability. The extension now gives both the firm and authorities time to decide on payment or possible contestation of the levy. Meanwhile, the state government has reiterated that no individual will be shielded from action under the law
