Shocking Incident: Woman Forced into Black Magic Ritual in Sangamner Fields

In Sangamner taluka, a man allegedly performed a black magic ritual on his chronically ill wife in a field; the wife’s health worsened and police have filed a case.

Ahilyanagar|November 21,2025: In a disturbing case from Sangamner taluka, locals uncovered a black magic ritual being performed on a seriously ill woman. According to Esakal, the woman’s husband, fearing for her health, allegedly organized a ritual in a field late at night along with an accomplice.

The incident came to light when residents reported strange noises and movements in the nearby farmland. They rushed to the scene early in the morning and found the woman in a severely distressed state. She appeared frightened and her physical condition seemed to have deteriorated further.

The ritual is said to have been carried out at around 8:30 am the previous day, although the initial activities likely started much earlier. Police were informed immediately, leading to the registration of a criminal case against both the husband and his partner.

According to investigators, the husband believed that conventional medical treatment was not enough, and so resorted to supernatural methods to cure his wife. Critics of superstition say such acts not only risk the health of vulnerable individuals but also violate basic human rights.

The case has reignited debate about the prevalence of occult practices in rural Maharashtra, especially when illness and desperation push people toward dangerous and illegal superstition. Authorities are now looking into the backgrounds of those involved and assessing whether further steps are needed to prevent such incidents in the future.
