Shahuwadi, Kolhapur| February 13, 2026: A shocking incident of intra‑family violence was reported in Shahuwadi taluka of Kolhapur district late on Thursday night, when a son allegedly stabbed his elderly father to death over a dispute relating to money kept at home, according to police.

The deceased has not yet been publicly identified, but local authorities said the altercation erupted over disagreements involving cash stored inside the family residence in Uchhat village. During the course of the argument, the son allegedly attacked his father with a sharp weapon, causing fatal injuries.

Following the incident, Shahuwadi Police rushed to the scene and took the suspect, Santosh Dataram Kamerkar, into custody. A murder case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, and further legal proceedings are underway.
