Pune|09 December 2025: SPPU has announced a fresh extension for its latest deadline, shifting the cut-off from December 7 to December 21 after receiving multiple requests from students and citing technical constraints. This move offers much-needed relief for students scrambling to submit their examination forms for the current cycle.
According to the university’s acting registrar, the extension aims to accommodate delays and ensure that no student misses the opportunity to register for exams because of last-minute glitches or system overload. With nearly two extra weeks added, students now have until December 21 to complete their application processes – a window that many believe will allow them to better manage backlog papers, form submission, and administrative paperwork.
SPPU’s decision comes at a time when the institution has already introduced several student-friendly reforms. Previously, for students whose academic validity or permanent registration number (PRN) had expired under the non-NEP curriculum, the university approved a one-year extension (effectively N+2+1) to allow them to finish their course and appear for exams.That move addressed a large group of students who missed deadlines in earlier years due to personal, financial, or logistical reasons-and the latest deadline extension furthers that trend of flexibility.
For students, the extension means extra breathing space to arrange documents, clear backlogs or pending exam forms, and ensure compliance with university requirements. It’s especially helpful for those juggling work, personal commitments, or delays due to holidays or technical issues.
