The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has announced temporary traffic closures on the Samruddhi Highway from February 9 to 18, 2026, as part of the ongoing Highway Traffic Management System (HTMS) installation. Vehicle operators and travelers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.

Jalna, Maharashtra, India | February 07, 2026: The temporary blocks will affect the Balhudhna–Lonar, Deulgaon Raja, and Sindkhed Raja stretch in Jalna district, covering kilometers 300.4 to 365.8. The work involves installing gantries along the highway to monitor speed, enforce traffic rules, report accidents, and enable faster emergency responses.

The installation will be executed in 10 stages, with each stage requiring a temporary closure of one side of the highway. Traffic in either direction toward Mumbai or Nagpur will be stopped for 50 to 60 minutes at a time. Once work at a stage is completed, traffic will resume. Overall, the gantry installation along the entire Samruddhi Highway is planned in 21 stages.

MSRDC has advised travelers to anticipate delays, use alternative routes where possible, and follow instructions from highway authorities and traffic personnel to ensure safety. Authorities emphasized that cooperation from commuters is essential to complete the work safely and on schedule.

The installation of the HTMS gantries is expected to enhance highway safety through improved speed monitoring, quicker accident reporting, and faster emergency response times. Over the long term, travelers on the Samruddhi Highway can expect smoother, safer journeys as a result of this project.
