April 3, 2026 | Washington: US President Donald Trump has issued a stern and decisive warning to Iran, stating that the United States is prepared to deliver a final and devastating blow to end the ongoing conflict. In his first prime-time address to the nation since the war began a month ago, Trump indicated that Washington’s strategic objectives are nearing completion, but warned that the war could continue longer if Iran refuses to back down. Speaking from the White House in a 20-minute televised address, Trump claimed the US has already crippled Iran’s naval capabilities, drone operations and ballistic missile strength. He asserted that Iran would not be allowed to become a nuclear-capable power under any circumstances.

Trump further said that within the next two to three weeks, the US would carry out a severe military strike aimed at bringing the conflict to a swift conclusion. However, he did not provide a fixed timeline for when the war would officially end, leaving room for escalation depending on Iran’s response. In a major geopolitical message, Trump urged nations dependent on oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz to demonstrate courage and take responsibility for protecting the critical maritime route. He claimed the US itself did not rely on Hormuz oil routes, but reassured allies like Saudi Arabia and Bahrain that they would not be left isolated.

Trump also warned that if no agreement is reached, the US could target Iran’s energy infrastructure, including power generation facilities, and potentially strike its oil reserves, calling them “easy targets” that would leave Iran unable to recover. Iran reacted sharply, rejecting any suggestion of surrender. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed that the Strait of Hormuz remains under Iran’s control and said it would not reopen the route unless Iranian conditions are met. Iran’s military leadership also warned that any ground attack would be met with strong retaliation. With both sides hardening their positions, the conflict appears poised for further escalation, raising global concerns over regional stability and energy supply disruptions.
