After securing court relief in the excise policy case, Arvind Kejriwal attacked the BJP, challenged it to hold immediate Delhi elections, and vowed to quit politics if it wins more than 10 seats.

New Delhi | 02 March, 2026: A day after obtaining relief from a Delhi court in the alleged excise policy case, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party, daring it to call early elections in the national capital. Addressing party supporters at Jantar Mantar, Kejriwal described the court’s decision as a strong rebuke to the BJP and alleged that central agencies were misused to target AAP leaders. “If the BJP wins more than 10 seats in Delhi, I will quit politics,” he declared, asserting that the case was politically motivated and aimed at dismantling his party.

Earlier in the day, Kejriwal visited the Hanuman Temple at Connaught Place with his family, accompanied by senior party leaders including Manish Sisodia and MP Sanjay Singh. The remarks followed relief granted by the Rouse Avenue Court in a case investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation. Kejriwal maintained that allegations of large-scale corruption had failed to stand judicial scrutiny. He further accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of closely monitoring the probe to politically weaken AAP.

Party leaders termed the development a moral victory and signalled preparations for an intensified political contest. Attention is now turning to proceedings involving the Enforcement Directorate, where further hearings are expected in the coming weeks
