In Jalna’s Somthana village, a woman allegedly murdered her husband with help from his younger brother after discovering their illicit relationship. Both suspects have been arrested.

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar | November 14, 2025: In a chilling case from Somthana village of Jalna district, a married couple’s relationship turned fatal when the wife, Manisha Parmeshwar Tayade (25), and her brother‑in‑law, Gyaneshwar Ram Tayade (28), allegedly murdered her husband, Parmeshwar Ram Tayade (30), over a secret affair, say investigators.

The victim had been missing since October 15, prompting his father, Ramnatha Tayade, to file a missing‑person complaint on October 20. On November 12, Parmeshwar’s decomposed body was discovered floating in a plastic sack in Wala‑Somthana lake. Stones had been tied to the sack in an apparent attempt to conceal the crime.

A preliminary investigation revealed Manisha and Gyaneshwar were involved in an illicit relationship and allegedly saw Parmeshwar as an obstacle. The couple confessed to the murder, stating they attacked him in his sleep with an axe, wrapped his body, and disposed it in the lake ‑ a plan executed in the dead of night.

Badanapur police station registered the murder case following Ramnatha’s complaint. Within 24 hours of recovering the body, both suspects were arrested and remanded by court.

Superintendent of Police Ajaykumar Bansal confirmed that the duo’s statements and forensic evidence are being processed. Officers are now probing the role of any additional accomplices and the duration of the affair, as well as the disposal method’s planning.

This incident has left the Somthana community shocked, prompting calls for improved local vigilance and police outreach in cases involving family tensions and illicit relationships.
