Work for a Corruption-Free Mumbai; Fulfil Citizens’ Dreams, CM Devendra Fadavis Urges BJP Corporators

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has urged newly elected BJP corporators in Mumbai to work with transparency and dedication, stressing the importance of corruption-free governance and development focused on citizens’ aspirations.

Mumbai, March 9, 2026: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadavis has called upon newly appointed corporators of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Mumbai to work towards building a corruption-free city and ensure that the dreams and expectations of citizens are fulfilled through transparent governance.

Addressing the newly inducted party corporators, Fadnavis emphasized the importance of public service and accountability in municipal administration. He urged them to prioritize development work, maintain transparency in decision-making, and remain committed to the welfare of residents.

The Chief Minister said that local representatives play a crucial role in shaping the city’s future through effective civic governance. According to him, corporators must focus on solving everyday issues faced by citizens such as infrastructure, sanitation, water supply, and urban development.

Highlighting the importance of clean administration, Fadnavis stated that efforts should be made to eliminate corruption at every level of civic functioning. He noted that public trust in elected representatives depends largely on their integrity, efficiency, and responsiveness to the needs of the people.

The Chief Minister also advised corporators to stay closely connected with citizens in their respective wards and regularly monitor development projects. He said that effective coordination between municipal authorities and elected representatives would help accelerate infrastructure development and improve public services in the city.

Fadnavis further stressed that Mumbai, being one of India’s most significant economic and financial hubs, requires strong and transparent civic leadership. He encouraged corporators to adopt innovative approaches to address urban challenges while ensuring that development projects benefit all sections of society.

During the interaction, the Chief Minister reiterated that the BJP leadership expects its representatives to set an example of good governance at the grassroots level. He also reminded them that citizens have high expectations from their elected leaders and that fulfilling those expectations should remain their primary responsibility.

Political observers believe that such guidance from the state leadership aims to strengthen governance and ensure that municipal representatives remain focused on development-oriented policies and public welfare.
