Pune, Oct 18, 2025 — A family trip turned violent in Pune’s Baramati area when a younger brother allegedly attacked his elder sibling with a sharp weapon while taking their mother to the village for Diwali. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. on October 15.
The elder brother, 40‑year‑old Ramesh Keshav Bhosale from Kuruli village, told police that his 30‑year‑old younger brother, Pradeep Keshav Bhosale, opposed taking their mother to the village, which led to an argument. During the confrontation, Pradeep allegedly stabbed Ramesh on the back and arms with a sharp weapon. Police at Hadapsar registered a case against Pradeep.
The exact motive beyond the family disagreement is not yet clear. The elder brother was taken for medical treatment, and authorities are monitoring his condition. Sub‑Inspector Supriya Kolewad is overseeing the investigation.
This incident highlights how domestic disputes can escalate into serious violence, even during festive preparations. Police will question both siblings and examine family circumstances to understand the underlying causes. Citizens are reminded of the importance of early mediation and calm conflict resolution to prevent such tragic outcomes.
