Man Killed in Chandrapur Over Diwali Gift Dispute; Six Arrested

A 27-year-old man was brutally killed in Chandrapur over a Diwali gift dispute. Six suspects have been arrested, and police are conducting further investigations into the shocking incident.

Chandrapur| October 24, 2025:A shocking incident marred the Diwali celebrations in Chandrapur as a 27-year-old man, Nitesh Thakre, was killed over a disagreement regarding a Diwali gift. Nitesh had reportedly demanded a gift from his employer, Sujit Ganveer, who runs a local shop. When the gift was not provided, a verbal altercation escalated between them.

Angered by the confrontation, Sujit allegedly planned to attack Nitesh and gathered five of his friends to assist him. The group lured Nitesh to a secluded area near the Law College premises under the pretense of watching a movie. There, Nitesh was brutally assaulted, resulting in his immediate death. The perpetrators also tried to destroy evidence at the crime scene.

Ramnagar police acted swiftly and arrested all six suspects within a few hours. Nitesh had been working at Sujit’s shop for several months, and the dispute over the Diwali gift tragically escalated into a fatal attack.

The police have registered a case of murder against the accused and are continuing their investigation. The incident has sent shockwaves across Chandrapur, raising concerns about violent disputes during festive celebrations. Authorities have appealed to citizens to maintain peace and avoid such tragic confrontations during festivals.
