Sangli |October 24,2025: In a tragic incident in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, a father took extreme measures after discovering that his 6-year-old daughter had been assaulted by his roommate, Ram Babu. In a fit of rage, the father retaliated by severely injuring Ram Babu.

However, the situation took a devastating turn when Ram Babu revealed the father’s secret same-sex relationship during police questioning. This disclosure led to widespread social stigma, causing immense humiliation for the father in his community.

Unable to cope with the shame and societal judgment, he took his own life by hanging himself on October 24, 2025.

The case has drawn significant attention to issues of sexual violence, privacy, and the devastating effects of societal prejudice. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the assault on the child, with charges under the POCSO Act being considered against Ram Babu.
