Two major Vande Bharat trains will add stops at Daund and Kirloskarvadi from November 2025, enhancing rail connectivity in western Maharashtra.

Pune | October30 2025: Starting November 2025, two premium Vande Bharat Express trains will include new stops at Daund Junction and Kirloskarvadi stations in western Maharashtra. The Hubballi–Pune Vande Bharat (Train 20669/20670) will now halt at Kirloskarvadi, while the CSMT–Solapur Vande Bharat (Train 22225/22226) will include a stop at Daund. These additions are currently approved on an experimental basis, meaning the stops will be monitored for booking uptake and operational viability before being confirmed permanently.

For the route to Kirloskarvadi, the change addresses strong demand from Sangli-Kolhapur-Pune belt travellers who previously had limited access to fast, premium train services. Local rail associations welcomed the decision, seeing it as a boost to regional connectivity and convenience for business-commuters and students alike. Meanwhile, Daund’s inclusion as a Vande Bharat halt opens access for travellers from the Solapur–Pune–Mumbai corridor, offering them a high-speed option closer to home.

Rail officials emphasise that during the trial phase, passenger numbers and revenue from the new stops will determine whether the halts become permanent. They also encourage travellers from Kirloskarvadi and Daund to utilise the service to strengthen the case for the stops’ retention. If successful, this could lead to enhanced service frequency or additional premium trains servicing the area.

This move aligns with the broader railway strategy of bringing advanced train services to emerging and intermediate stations beyond major metropolitan hubs. As infrastructure upgrades expand and rail travel demand rises in secondary cities and industrial towns, such targeted improvements aim to balance growth with accessibility.
