Sanjay Raut Hospitalised in Mumbai After Health Deteriorates, Takes Break From Public Life

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut has been admitted to Fortis Hospital in Bandra after a sudden deterioration in his health. Sources close to the family confirmed that Raut was taken to the hospital late on Tuesday evening when he complained of severe fatigue and chest discomfort. Doctors have advised complete rest and restricted his participation in public and political events for the next few weeks.

Party officials said that his condition is stable and under medical supervision. However, doctors have recommended further tests and observation due to recurring health complications over the past few months. Raut has been active in several political programs recently, which, according to close aides, may have contributed to his health strain.

In a brief message shared through his office, Raut thanked supporters for their concern and said he would be temporarily stepping away from political engagements until his recovery. He expressed confidence that he would return soon to continue his work for the party and the people of Maharashtra.

The development comes at a crucial time for Shiv Sena (UBT), which is preparing for upcoming local body elections. Raut, considered one of the party’s most vocal leaders and strategists, plays a key role in communications and political coordination. His absence is likely to affect campaign planning and media outreach, at least in the short term.

Leaders across party lines, including members of the BJP, Congress, and NCP, have extended wishes for his speedy recovery. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also conveyed their best wishes, acknowledging Raut’s contribution to state and national politics.

Shiv Sena (UBT) sources said that while Raut’s health condition is serious, he is responding well to treatment. The party has urged workers and supporters not to believe in rumors circulating online and to respect the family’s request for privacy.

Raut’s illness has drawn widespread attention in political circles, as he has been one of the most outspoken critics of the ruling Mahayuti government and an important figure in opposition coordination. His temporary withdrawal from public life will create a visible gap in Maharashtra’s political narrative until he recovers.
