Key Conspirator In Mundhwa Land Scam, Sheetal Tejwani, Finally Arrested By Pune Police

After intensive investigation, Pune Police arrested Sheetal Tejwani — accused of masterminding the controversial Mundhwa government-land scam — marking a major breakthrough in the high-value land fraud case.
Pune | December 3, 2025: Pune Police have arrested Sheetal Tejwani, who has been identified as the key conspirator in the multi-crore Mundhwa land scam. Investigators say that after two rounds of questioning and a detailed probe into the disputed land deal, they discovered clear evidence of her direct involvement in illegally transferring a 40-acre government-owned plot — originally Mahar Watan land — to a private firm without valid permissions or payment of due stamp duty.
Tejwani held power of attorney for the 40-acre land parcel before it was transferred to Amadea Enterprises LLP, a firm linked with other accused parties. The transfer reportedly involved evading roughly ₹6 crore in stamp duty, inflicting serious financial loss on the state.
Sources in the city’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) say that the recent arrest followed intensive scrutiny of documents, transaction history and stamp-duty irregularities. Tejwani had earlier managed to evade arrest despite serious allegations — including a prior case involving alleged bank fraud and loan embezzlement tied to a collapsed cooperative bank.
Officials have reaffirmed that the probe will continue, and all involved parties — including firm partners and officials who facilitated the sale — will be thoroughly investigated. The arrest is a significant step toward bringing the full scope of the land-fraud case into the public eye. Local civic activists have welcomed the move and demanded stringent action against all those implicated.
