Chandrapur | 25 February 2026: A tragic incident in Chandrapur district has left a family devastated after a brother allegedly killed his sister over a property dispute. The incident occurred in the Zhade Plot area of Bhadrawati, where Sanjeevani Shankar Bhonde (32) was attacked with a sharp weapon, resulting in her death. Their mother, Pushpa Shankar Bhonde (58), sustained serious injuries and was admitted to a local hospital for treatment.

The accused, Suraj Shankar Bhonde (28), was taken into custody by the Bhadrawati police, while the father was also questioned as part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities stated that the dispute over property ownership had been escalating for several days, culminating in the fatal attack.

Police are investigating whether any other family members were involved and are examining the circumstances that led to the violence.

Officials emphasized the importance of resolving family conflicts through legal channels to prevent such tragic incidents. The case has sparked concern in the Chandrapur community, highlighting the risks of domestic disputes escalating into violent crimes.
