A joint public interaction session by the Regional Passport Office and Pune Police helped applicants resolve passport-related complaints, particularly delays in police verification, while offering direct guidance from senior officials

Pune | March 07 , 2026: In an effort to streamline passport services and address citizens’ grievances, the Regional Passport Office in Pune, in coordination with Pune Police, organised a special public interaction session on March 4 at the Passport Office in Baner.

The programme was organised with the objective of strengthening coordination between the passport authorities and the police department, which plays a key role in the verification process before passports are issued. Officials said smoother communication between the two agencies is essential to ensure timely processing of applications.

During the session, senior officers from the Regional Passport Office as well as officials from Pune Police directly interacted with applicants. Citizens were given an opportunity to present their concerns related to pending applications, delays in Police Verification Reports (PVR), and other documentation issues.

Authorities also provided detailed guidance on the documents required for passport applications, procedures for applicants who have cases pending in court, and the process for updating or verifying residential address details. Officials noted that several pending cases were addressed on the spot, offering immediate relief to applicants.

The interaction session allowed citizens to communicate directly with the concerned authorities, reducing the need for repeated visits and helping to clear confusion regarding the application process. Officials said such initiatives contribute to faster decision-making and greater transparency in handling passport verification matters.The Regional Passport Office reiterated its commitment to providing citizen-centric services and emphasised the importance of continued coordination with the police department to make the passport issuance process smoother and more efficient for applicants in the region.
