PMPML expands feeder bus service to PCMC Metro Station, now covering 11 Pune Metro stations across 23 routes to improve last-mile connectivity.

Pune, April 22, 2026: In a significant push to strengthen last-mile connectivity, Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited has expanded its feeder bus network to include the PCMC Metro Station, further integrating bus and metro travel across the city. With this addition, feeder services are now operational at 11 metro stations, covering a total of 23 routes.

The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to make the Pune Metro more accessible and commuter-friendly by addressing the crucial “last-mile” gap. Many passengers often face difficulty reaching metro stations from residential or commercial areas, and feeder buses are expected to bridge this gap efficiently.

According to officials, the expanded routes will connect key residential pockets, business hubs, and transit points to nearby metro stations, encouraging more people to shift towards public transport. The inclusion of PCMC Metro Station is particularly important as it serves a rapidly growing suburban population and acts as a major transit node in the Pimpri-Chinchwad region.

Transport planners believe that improved connectivity will not only boost metro ridership but also reduce dependence on private vehicles, thereby easing traffic congestion and lowering pollution levels in the city. The feeder buses are designed to operate in sync with metro timings, ensuring smoother transfers and reduced waiting times for passengers.

Commuters have welcomed the move, noting that reliable last-mile options are essential for the success of large-scale public transport systems. However, some have also pointed out the need for increased frequency, better route awareness, and real-time tracking to maximise the benefits of the service.

Authorities have indicated that the network may be expanded further based on commuter demand and usage patterns. The integration of bus and metro systems is being seen as a step toward building a more sustainable and efficient urban mobility ecosystem in Pune.

The expansion of PMPML feeder services to PCMC Metro Station marks another step in improving Pune’s public transport network. With better last-mile connectivity, the city moves closer to a more seamless and commuter-friendly transit experience.
