Routematic Launches “COCO Rides” to Transform Commuting for 1.25 Lakh Hinjawadi IT Employees

Routematic has introduced “COCO Rides,” an AI-enabled app-based shuttle service, providing over 1.25 lakh Hinjawadi IT professionals with a predictable, affordable, and high-capacity alternative to Pune’s record-breaking traffic congestion

Pune | May 13, 2026: In a strategic move to de-congest India’s second-most crowded city, corporate mobility leader Routematic has officially rolled out its “COCO Rides” shuttle service in Hinjawadi. Launched in partnership with the Hinjawadi Industries Association (HIA) and supported by the MIDC and RTO, the initiative targets the daily struggle of over 1.25 lakh employees working across 80+ member companies in the massive IT cluster.

The service debuts with a robust fleet of 80 buses operating on 70-plus specialized routes, connecting more than 500 boarding points across the city to the Hinjawadi IT corridor. With a daily capacity of 20,000 riders and fixed fares starting as low as ₹100, the app-based platform allows employees to reserve seats in advance, ensuring a seat on a scheduled route a critical upgrade from the ad-hoc and informal transport options currently available.

The intervention comes at a pivotal time for Pune. According to the 2025 TomTom Traffic Index, the city ranks as the fifth most congested globally, with commuters losing nearly 158 hours annually to traffic. “The future of corporate mobility lies in shared transport networks that bring predictability at scale,” stated Sriram Kannan, Founder and CEO of Routematic, during the launch ceremony. HIA President Subramanian Radhakrishnan echoed this sentiment, calling the service a “critical intervention” for the region’s mobility challenges.

Backed by a central command system for real-time safety monitoring, COCO Rides requires users to register with their official corporate IDs to maintain a secure environment. As Routematic looks to expand this model to other major business districts, the Hinjawadi rollout serves as a blueprint for how technology and industry collaboration can solve large-scale urban infrastructure bottlenecks.
