Swarupa Raut Triumphs Over Cerebral Palsy to Score 80% in Class 10 Exams

Demonstrating extraordinary resilience, Swarupa Ashok Raut, a student battling congenital cerebral palsy, overcame severe physical limitations and intense daily pain to secure an inspiring 80% marks in her secondary school examinations

KOLHAPUR| May 23, 2026: In a profoundly moving testament to human willpower, Swarupa Ashok Raut, a resident of Shivaji Peth, has achieved a remarkable 80% score in the state Class 10 board examinations. A student of Maharashtra Girls High School, Swarupa was diagnosed at birth with cerebral palsy, a neurological condition resulting from oxygen deprivation that severely impaired the functionality of both her arms and legs.

Despite experiencing acute physical exhaustion and muscle pain during extended periods of immobility, Swarupa dramatically escalated her daily study routine from two hours to nearly eight hours as the final examinations approached. Her academic journey was heavily supported by a dedicated familial and social network; her father and uncle routinely carried her to school each morning, while her classmates assisted her with daily personal tasks, including eating her meals. School educators also provided continuous psychological and academic guidance to help her navigate the curriculum.

Looking forward, Swarupa has expressed a strong desire to pursue higher education and dedicate her future professional endeavors to public service for her hometown and the nation.

Simultaneously, the Samarth Vidya Mandir, an educational institution managed by the Helpers of the Handicapped organization, recorded an outstanding overall passing rate of 97.82% in the same examination cycle. Out of 46 specially-abled candidates, 45 successfully cleared the boards. Among the top performers from the institution, Saloni Mandave secured the highest position with 75.20% marks, followed by Shreyas Gurav at 71.40%, and Shreyas Bhosale, who finished third within the institutional ranking by securing 70.60% marks.
