Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited (KSSL), the defence arm of Bharat Forge, in collaboration with global defence technology company Paramount, has unveiled the SIMHA 4×4, a next-generation light armoured multi-purpose vehicle designed for international defence markets. The vehicle was showcased at Eurosatory 2026, one of the world’s leading defence and security exhibitions held in Paris.
Developed as a modular and mission-configurable platform, the SIMHA 4×4 has been designed to meet the evolving operational requirements of armed forces across multiple regions, including Asia, Africa and other international markets. Defence officials said the vehicle combines mobility, protection and adaptability, enabling it to undertake a wide range of military roles.
The armoured vehicle is intended for missions such as reconnaissance, border security, internal security operations, troop transportation, command-and-control functions and force protection. Its modular architecture allows for upgrades, customisation and integration of emerging technologies, making it suitable for changing battlefield requirements.
According to the companies, the platform has been engineered to support both on-road and off-road operations while offering enhanced protection and operational flexibility. The design also enables rapid localisation and industrial production in partner countries, supporting national defence manufacturing goals and reducing reliance on external supply chains.

Industry observers view the launch as another step in India’s growing presence in the global defence manufacturing sector. The unveiling highlights increasing collaboration between Indian and international defence firms to develop advanced military platforms for worldwide markets.
Officials from both organisations stated that the SIMHA 4×4 reflects a long-term vision of delivering versatile and scalable defence solutions capable of meeting modern military challenges. The vehicle joins a growing portfolio of jointly developed defence technologies aimed at strengthening strategic industrial partnerships and expanding export opportunities in the global defence sector.
