A years-long land hurdle for the Sade Satra Nali–Keshavnagar road widening project has been cleared, paving the way for further infrastructure work in east Pune.

Pune, September 16, 2026: A long-standing land-related hurdle affecting the widening and development of the Sade Satra Nali–Keshavnagar road corridor has been cleared, potentially paving the way for further progress on an important east Pune connectivity project.

The road is part of a wider network of planned infrastructure improvements connecting areas around Sade Satra Nali, Magarpatta, Mundhwa and Keshavnagar. The development is expected to improve connectivity in an area that has witnessed rapid residential and commercial growth in recent years.

Land-related complications have been among the major factors affecting several road projects in the eastern parts of Pune. Clearing the hurdle is expected to allow the civic administration to move ahead with the next stages of the proposed road development.

Road Network Planned Around Sade Satra Nali and Keshavnagar

The Pune Municipal Corporation has separately floated a major tender covering the construction and development of a 24-metre Development Plan road from Magarpatta Road to Sade Satra Nali Pipeline Road.

The tender also includes a proposed underpass on an 18-metre DP road connecting Amanora Park Township with Keshavnagar Malwadi Road, as well as another 18-metre DP road connection from Magarpatta Road. The tender has an estimated value of about ₹109.61 crore.

These planned links are intended to strengthen east Pune’s road network and provide additional connectivity between major residential, commercial and employment hubs.

Growing Traffic Pressure in Keshavnagar

Keshavnagar and surrounding areas have experienced rapid development, resulting in increasing pressure on existing roads.

Traffic congestion has become a recurring concern for residents and commuters using the Keshavnagar-Mundhwa and adjoining routes. Recent reports have highlighted delays in widening other important roads in the Keshavnagar area, including routes connecting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk with Manjari and the Renuka Mata Mandir area.

The clearance of the land hurdle for the Sade Satra Nali–Keshavnagar road therefore comes amid wider efforts to improve connectivity in the region.

Potential Relief for Commuters

Once the required land and construction processes are completed, the expanded road network could provide additional routes for motorists travelling between Magarpatta, Sade Satra Nali, Amanora, Keshavnagar and surrounding areas.

The planned infrastructure is also expected to help distribute traffic across multiple routes instead of concentrating vehicles on a limited number of existing roads.

However, the actual impact on traffic will depend on the completion of the planned works, acquisition and handover of the required land, construction timelines and integration with adjoining road projects.
