Pune Weather: October Heat Intensifies as Temperature Nears 35°C, IMD Forecasts More Warm Days

Pune records 34.8°C as October heat intensifies. IMD forecasts temperatures around 34–35°C in Pune over the coming days.

Pune: Pune is experiencing a noticeable rise in temperatures as October heat sets in, with the city recording a maximum temperature of 34.8°C at Shivajinagar on October 2. The reading was among the highest October temperatures recorded in the city in recent years.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has indicated that the warm conditions are likely to continue over the next several days, with maximum temperatures in Pune expected to remain around 34–35°C. The local forecast also indicates largely clear or partly cloudy conditions and no major weather warning for the immediate period.

The temperature rise is being observed across different parts of Pune. Recent readings included 35°C at Lohegaon, 34.5°C at Chinchwad, 33.7°C at Magarpatta and 33.3°C at NDA, with no rainfall reported at these stations.

According to the IMD forecast, Shivajinagar could touch 35°C on October 3 and 4, while temperatures are expected to remain around 34°C on October 5 and 6 before potentially rising again later in the week. Chinchwad could experience even higher temperatures, with forecasts indicating 36°C to 37°C during the period.

The warmer conditions come amid a decline in rainfall activity following the withdrawal of the southwest monsoon from parts of the country. Reduced cloud cover and rainfall are contributing to the rise in daytime temperatures, according to meteorological observations cited in recent reports.

Residents are likely to experience hotter afternoons over the coming days. With temperatures expected to remain elevated, people may need to take precautions against prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and maintain adequate hydration, particularly during peak afternoon hours.
