Ambadas Danve Alleges ₹1,150 Crore Samruddhi Mahamarg Land Scam Involving MP’s Driver

Ambadas Danve accuses MP Sandipan Bhumre of orchestrating alleged land fraud with dubious gift deed; demands CID probe into acquisition linked to Samruddhi Expressway compensation

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar | 25 February 2026: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Ambadas Danve has accused Lok Sabha MP Sandipan Bhumre of involvement in a ₹1,150 crore land acquisition scam tied to the Samruddhi Mahamarg project, sparking political controversy and calls for a formal investigation.

Danve alleges that a 23‑acre plot of land in the Jatwada area was used to claim compensation from the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) during Samruddhi Mahamarg land acquisition. The total compensation for the land has been estimated at around ₹1,150 crore.

Central to the controversy is a hibanama (gift deed) recording the transfer of the land in the name of Javed Rasool Sheikh, who Danve says is a driver associated with MP Bhumre. Danve claims the deed is fraudulent, citing records that indicate the transfer occurred in 1971, even though Sheikh was born in 1985, which would make the timing legally impossible.

Danve has written to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and the Revenue Minister, urging a Crime Investigation Department (CID) inquiry into the matter. He contends that the alleged manipulation of land records amounts to a major corruption case involving public funds, and that a full investigation will reveal the truth behind the dubious documentation.

In response, MP Sandipan Bhumre has denied the allegations, asserting that there was no improper hibanama transaction. He claims that the person referred to in the accusations is not connected to him, and has indicated that defamation proceedings may be pursued against Danve.

The dispute has quickly gained political attention in the region, with parties demanding transparency and accountability in large‑scale land acquisitions linked to infrastructure projects like the Samruddhi Mahamarg.
